Greens launch campaign by the sea
Green MP candidate for Isle of Wight East, Vix Lowthion, launched her election campaign in Ryde over the weekend (Saturday).
Speaking to a group of supporters at Ryde’s Western Gardens in the Saturday morning sunshine, Lowthion said she wanted to tackle the ferries, encourage the building of cheaper more affordable homes and end no-fault evictions and tackling the discharge of sewage in local waters.

Green Baroness thinks Vix would be great MP
The latest visitor to the Island to endorse a local candidate was Green Party baroness, Jenny Jones, who visited Ryde on Sunday.
After a private meeting in Ryde Castle, with leaders of the Wightlink User Group, Jenny chatted to the Isle of Wight Observer about a range of issues, including our ferry services. She also insisted the Green Party is still relevant, and their representatives encourage other parties to be brave

Over 60 protesters unite at Harbour Farm
More than 60 local people stood together in front of the locked gates of Harbour Farm, Bembridge on Sunday, protesting at what they call the Environment Agency’s the lack of action, since it bought the site ten years ago.
The protesters all held daffodils as a reminder of what they were missing in the locked gardens behind them.

Isle of Wight Green Party Chairs challenge Conservative-led council
Two years ago, Islanders voted to get rid of the Conservative-led council, which for four years had cut services, eroded democracy, wasted public money and left a legacy of neglect.
In 2021, over 60 per cent of Islanders who voted, voted for change and supported non-Conservative parties or individuals – thus showing that residents of the Isle of Wight do not want a Conservative-led council.
